NFL Draft: How Devontez Walker fits with the Baltimore Ravens

Most of the evaluation for Devontez “Tez” Walker is pretty straightforward: He’s tall and fast, and he plays tall and fast. He likes to run past cornerbacks between the 20’s and catch jump balls down the sideline or in the red zone. He doesn’t have the most developed route tree and his agility testing wasn’t super-promising, but he brings a particular set of skills that can elevate any offense, at any level of football.

There’s other things you can say about him, and I like yapping, so I will. His hands were pretty secure throughout his shortened season in Chapel Hill, but he had a drop and a fumble come at pivotal moments that stopped UNC comeback bids short — then he compounded this with a rough week of practice at the Senior Bowl where he was repeatedly noted as one of the participants who struggled the most, including with drops.
